Just a few terms and phrases that I or other people may use that you may not have heard of, some are technical terms and some are slang, some you may have heard before but have a different meaning and others are self explanitory but I'll throw them in anyway as theres nothing worse than being in a conversation with words you don't know or understand.
Access - When people talk about access they are talking about how to get in to a location.
Blue Hour - This is the hour after the sun goes down and the hour before the sun comes up.
Cable Release - Just another word for shutter release.
CF - Compact Flash.
Craning - Exploring and Photographing on cranes
Dead Pixels - This can happen on your LCD screen which is not the worst thing in the world or on your sensor which is worse, it is when pixels stop working and appear black either on the LCD or on image.
Dome - The result of a tool and a technique used to create a light painted dome. it is called a Dome because it looks like a Dome.
Draining - Exploring and photographing in drains.
El Wire - Electroluminescent Wire, A light painting tool used to create a misty/smokey effect
Exposing - Something that would be said whilst in mid exposure
F-Stop - It is the F in F/5.6 and stands for F-Stop.
Gels - Theatrical Lighting Gels, a light painting tool.
Glass - A photographer may call their lens glass.
Graphin' - a short slang word to replace the word photographing.
Gyrocam - A term used for a camera rotation tool.
Hot Pixels - Where pixels on your sensor can overheat producing different coloured pixels in your images, this happens more often at night because you are using long exposures.
Lensman - Just another word for a photographer.
Lens Swapping - A technique used where an exposure is started and the lens is swapped mid exposure.
Light Graff - Better known as Light Graffiti, or light drawing where someone will use a torch to draw lines in the exposure.
LP - When people say LP they mean Light Painting.

LPWA - Light Painting World Alliance
Moonrise - Just like sunrise the moon rises as the night goes on.
ND/GND - Neutral Density Filter or Graduated Neutral Density Filter used to let less light in to the camera.
Noctography - This is the easy one, Noctography means Nocturnal Photography.
Noise - This is the grain in a digital image.
Noise Reduction - An in camera feature after an exposure to get rid of noise, this generally takes the same amount of time as the exposure was. Can also be refuered to as NR.
NP - When people say NP they mean Night Photography.
Orbs - An orb is where you spin a light source on a piece of string and turn in a circle during an exposure, there are different methods of this. It is call an Orb because it looks like an orb of a sphere/ball of light.
Overcooked - A word used to describe something that has been over edited.
Photog - Just a word for a photographer or doing photography.
Pixelstick - A light painting tool that is programmable to make images.
Pod - What some photographers may call their tripod.
Polaris - If you hear some night photographers talking about this it is the north star.
Pole Trail - A star trail that circles around the north star.
Rooftopping - The activity of photographing a city scape from a rooftop.
Scout/Scouting - Would be used when you check out a location in the day before going at night.
Shooting - A word for taking photographs.
Shopped - A phrase that can be used to describe something that has been photoshopped.
Snapper - Just another word for a photographer.
Snapping - Another word for taking photographs.
SOOC (Straight out of camera) - An expression used when an image is unedited and is being viewed as it was on the cameras LCD.
Spinning - Anyone who talks about spinning is not on about some dancing, it is a term used where you attach a light source to the end of a piece of wood and spin it round during a long exposure, this can also be used to create orbs.
Stacking - This is a method where you take several exposures then blend them together in post production.
Star Trails - A star trail is where your shutter is left open and the earth rotates on it's axis but the stars do not move creating lines with stars in the image.
Strobe - a term for a repeatedly fired flash.
Tog - Not a term I use myself but is what I have heard some people call a photographer.
Torch Silence - The same as radio silence but with light. If someone says this it means turn your torch off.
Trails - Either can be refered to as Traffic, Light or Star Trails.
UE - Urban Exploration.
Urbex - Urban Exploration.
Wangle - Slang for Wide Angle Lens
