Spinners and Spirals
We can use our Orb tool for these as well or any other light source and they are very simple, I usually set up in a tunel or corridor and go away from my camera, about 10 meters or so, I then start spinning the lights in a circle as I would with an orb, then I start walking towards the camera, as I am walking the lights are creating a spiralling motion, leaving a spiraling tunnel of light as you go. These can be done in other ways to get different effects. See below for the same tecnnique with different light sources, 1 is an led batton and the other done with wire wool both giving very different results.
This can be made using the Orb tool or any other light sourse for different results. It can be done in two ways, one is facing towards the camera, and the other is facing away from the camera, the forward facing one will create a lovely circle of light. What I do is start with my orb tool at it's longest and start to spin, as i'm spinning I make the wire shorter with my other hand, with every spin I make it shorter and shorter until it has reached my hand and turn turn it off, When facing with your back towards the camera using the exact same technique you will be using your body to create a silhouette and can make some quite mysterious photos. You can do this technique anywhere and do it behind different things to create shaped silhouettes, or mix it with other light painting.
